  • Turn off the PS4 from the front button. The power indicator will blink for a few moments before turning off.
  • Once the console is off, press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps. The first beep will sound when the machine is turned on and the second beep will sound about 7 seconds after the system is turned on.
  • Connect the PS4 controller via USB and press the PS button on the controller.
  • Enter safe mode.

Restart System: We exit safe mode and start PS4 in the traditional way.

Change Resolution: To change the resolution to 480p when the system is restarted.

Update System Software: To update the firmware via internet, CD or USB.

Restore Default Settings: Restore system to factory settings.

Rebuild Database: This option scans the system and creates a new database. This is the one we are interested in. Please note that depending on the data we have on the hard disk, the process may take more or less time to complete. It is a tool that is convenient to use from time to time.

Initialize PS4: All data will be erased when performing this action.

Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software): Erases all information including the system software.
