If there is a social network that is gaining more and more followers, it is undoubtedly TikTok, the famous music video sharing platform that has become one of the main competitors not only of Instagram but also of YouTube. To further strengthen its position, TikTok is regularly updated with various new features and improvements.

A few days ago, without going any further, it launched a promotion with which it gave away three months of Spotify Premium on iPhone and Android, and we also know that it is testing the possibility of paying for personalized videos. Now, in addition, it has been updated to add a few interesting new features, such as scheduled events, group live with two people, and support for the PiP feature on iOS and Android.

What’s new in TikTok for creators and viewers?

TikTok has announced a number of new features for live broadcasts that aim to improve the experience for both creators and viewers. All these new features will gradually be coming to the popular social network.

First, it will add the possibility of scheduling a live broadcast or event in advance so that viewers can register and receive a notification when the broadcast begins. In addition, using a sticker, creators will be able to add countdown timers on their TikTok videos to promote their upcoming live broadcasts.

Another new feature is the Go LIVE Together function, i.e. the possibility of co-hosting a live broadcast with a second person, i.e. a group live broadcast with two creators.

On the other hand, TikTok wants to make it even easier to find and browse live streams with a dedicated “Live” button that has already begun to be implemented. It is also extending the Q&A feature in live events to more users to make it easier to interact with viewers in the middle of a broadcast.

Along these lines, TikTok is adding new comment filtering options with up to 200 keywords set by the creator; it is also adding the ability to appoint moderators who can ban and mute certain viewers. It will also ask viewers to reconsider their words before posting a potentially cruel or harmful comment.

Finally, TikTok is starting to support iOS and Android’s picture-in-picture (PiP) modes, so it is possible to continue watching TikTok live events in a small window while using another app.
