Netflix is considering launching a system similar to Apple Arcade in the video game market to take the entertainment they already offer to another level of interactivity, according to rumors.

Apple Arcade was one of Cupertino’s bets on games. The service offers more than 180 games available for free download after paying a subscription fee that varies depending on whether we pay for it individually or through Apple One. The system has already captivated millions of users who can entertain themselves with a myriad of games from different categories.

The alarm bells have sounded at Netflix when the directors are looking for the future executive who will manage the expansion into the world of video games. This is what Reuters assures in a press release commenting on the already rumored leap into video games by the largest streaming audiovisual content service of the moment. Netflix has already offered interactive experiences based on video games such as games dedicated to Stranger Things or La Casa de Papel. However, what is now being engineered in its offices is something else entirely.

Although all news must be understood with care, what is clear is that Netflix wants to take a step beyond user interaction. It has already done so with special chapters such as ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’. However, now they want to focus on the gaming sector and everyday video games. To do this, they would be considering the possibility of creating a service similar to Apple Arcade or Xbox Game Pass, services that through a subscription allow access to dozens of games: a ‘Netflix’ gamer.

In response to questions from the press to Netflix executives and press teams about this issue, nothing is denied or affirmed, they are only giving lengths about an idea that has been on the table for a long time.
