To keep prices low, IKEA requires purchasers to assemble their furniture, but this initiative aims to create a sustainable future by allowing people to disassemble their used furniture so that they can give it away or reuse it by maintaining it themselves. The purpose of this project is to provide an alternative to disposal.

In addition to BILLY, disassembly instructions are also available on the website for five other hot-selling products: POÄNG, MALM, BRIMNES, LYCKSELE, and PAX.

To promote recycling and reuse of products, IKE A also offers a buy-back service at its stores. IKEA A also offers a buy-back service at its stores to promote the recycling and reuse of its products, where it buys pre-assembled furniture at a price based on its condition, repairs and paints it, and sells it at outlets.

IKEA has a sustainability strategy titled “People and Planet Positive,” which it aims to achieve by 2030. In addition to these measures, the company has announced that it will tackle various issues such as climate change and sustainable consumption through measures such as the development of products made from recyclable raw materials and the phasing out of single-use plastics.
