Nikon introduced the D6 full-frame DSLR Camera for professionals who want high reliability and performance. Allegedly, this camera uses “the most powerful autofocus system in Nikon history”.

The camera also features “unprecedented performance in low light”,  “advanced multimedia capabilities of 4K UHD” and “stunning burst speed”.

The mentioned autofocus system has 105 points, any of which can be selected individually. They are in cruciform shape, and in terms of the density of the points, they are approximately 1.6 times superior to the previous Nikon D5 model.

It has extended focus detection zones

Another feature is the extended focus detection zones. In single-point focus mode or with a dynamic autofocus zone, this mode makes it easier to focus on the subject. It works even the subject is slightly out of focus.

The center point operates at -4.5 EV, and the rest at -4 EV. So, the autofocus is possible even in the dark or in a low-contrast lighting.

The D6 uses an Expeed 6 processor and a CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 20.8 megapixels. The sensitivity range is between ISO 100-102,400.  It expands to ISO 50-2,380,000.

Available shutter speeds are up to 1/8000s, and the sync speed is 1/250s.

You can shoot videos in 4K at 30fps

The burst speed using a mechanical shutter is a maximum of 14fps. An absolutely silent continuous shooting at a speed of 10.5fps is possible.  If you shoot in Live View in 8MP, the speed rises to 30fps. And if you shoot at 2MP, the burst speed will go up to 60fps.

You can also shoot 4K 30 fps videos with Nikon’s new flagship.

The camera is highly flexible, including the ability to save presets and program the functions of its 14 buttons. D6 includes a 3.2-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 2.36 million dots, a GPS receiver, two XQD or CFexpress card slots, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and USB 3.1 Gen 1 interfaces (USB connector -C).

The camera body is made of magnesium alloy. The camera is “weatherproof”.  And its dimensions are 160 x 163 x 92mm, it weighs 1270g.

Without recharging the EN-EL18c battery, 3580 shots can be taken.

Nikon D6 will be on the shelves in April 2020 at a suggested retail price of $6,500.
