OnePlus 9R is finally presented, it is the cheapest smartphone in the OnePlus 9 series and today we are going to talk about its specs, price, and release date.

Unsurprisingly, the price reduction comes with a cut in features. Even so, the device is ready to compete for the throne of the affordable high-end range, because it has a Snapdragon 870.

It is striking that OnePlus has decided to build the chassis of the OnePlus 9 using plastic instead of aluminum. However, it is understandable given that the OnePlus 9R is actually a version of the OnePlus 8T with some interesting changes.

This phone has a four-camera setup. There’s a 48MP main sensor, accompanied by a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP monochrome sensor.

On the front, there’s a Full HD+ AMOLED display, 6.5 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel also houses an integrated fingerprint reader.

Unlike the other two models in the OnePlus 9 family, the 9R does not have the Snapdragon 888 processor inside. Instead, the brand includes Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 5G, a chip based on last generation’s Snapdragon 865+, with some performance improvements.

There are two versions with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage capacities, all backed by a 4,500mAh capacity battery and OxygenOS 11 operating system.

This model also includes some of the key features of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro such as the renewed cooling system, or the Warp Charge 65T fast charging technology that allows recharging the entire smartphone in less than half an hour.

OnePlus 9R price and release date

Unfortunately, the OnePlus 9R will not be available worldwide. As the brand had already anticipated, the device will be exclusive to the Indian market.

There, it can be reserved from today through Amazon and the company’s official store. Considering the current exchange rate, the OnePlus 9R will be sold for around $450.
