Riot Games hired Raymond Bartos, former lead producer for World of Warcraft, in January 2026 as a Senior Game Producer for its Runeterra universe massive multiplayer online game.

Bartos previously worked at Blizzard Entertainment for three years. He led content development, including the Plunderstorm battle royale mode, for World of Warcraft. He left Blizzard in December 2025.

  • Previous role: Worked on the H1Z1 project at Daybreak Game Company
  • Expertise: Led experimental content for World of Warcraft, such as Remixes
  • Contribution: Brings MMO technical and operational expertise to Riot

Bartos stated on LinkedIn and X that Riot Games’ culture, based on kindness and respect, impressed him during the interview process. This move also reunites him with former Blizzard colleague Orlando Salvatore, an engineering manager who joined Riot in October 2024.

Bartos said, “I can’t wait to add value for Riot players and deliver an unforgettable MMO experience.”

Limited information about the project has been released. The hiring of Bartos indicates an intent to update traditional MMORPG formulas and suggests an accelerated development timeline with strategic talent acquisition.
