LG Electronics announced its 2026 LG gram lineup on January 2, 2026, in Seoul, with a debut planned at CES 2026. The series introduces Aerominum, an ultra-light material that reduces laptop weight while increasing structural strength. This aeroplate-structured alloy provides scratch resistance, meets military-grade standards, and features a sleek metallic finish from refined atelier brushing.

The new models emphasize productivity through advanced dual AI capabilities. Select versions support LG gram chat On-Device AI for on-device intelligence and Microsoft Copilot+ PC for cloud-based processing. These features run on the upgraded EXAONE 3.5 sLLM, delivering fast AI assistance offline with privacy. Equipped with the latest processors, the laptops handle multitasking, content creation, and AI workflows.

Connectivity improves with enhanced gram Link, which supports file sharing, screen mirroring, and content transfer across Android, iOS, and webOS devices. This includes LG TVs, monitors, and projectors, creating a hub for three ecosystems and overcoming OS compatibility issues.

Security includes LG ThinQ, enabling remote locking or erasing of the PC if lost to protect data.

The 17Z90UR, branded as the LG gram Pro 17, claims the title of the world’s lightest 17-inch RTX laptop. It fits into a form factor similar to a typical 16-inch model. The device features a 17-inch WQXGA LCD display with 2,560 x 1,600 resolution for productivity and viewing. It includes an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 memory for graphics tasks, content creation, and gaming.

The 16Z90U, known as the LG gram Pro 16, is the lightest 16-inch laptop in its class with both on-device and cloud-based AI. It has a 16-inch WQXGA+ OLED display at 2,880 x 1,800 resolution, providing sharp contrast for work and creative tasks. Intel Core Ultra processors power responsive multitasking and performance for daily workloads.

“The 2026 LG gram represents a new milestone in our decade-long pursuit of ultimate portability. With Aerominum, we have successfully solved the paradox of weight versus durability, creating a premium metallic look that is both incredibly light and exceptionally durable,” said Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “By fusing this breakthrough material with our advanced dual AI and security solutions, our highly intelligent and extremely portable new laptops empower users to work, create and connect seamlessly wherever they are.”

The 17Z90UR will be available exclusively in North America.

LG positions the 2026 lineup as an extension of its 10-year leadership in ultra-portable laptops. Aerominum addresses portability needs by maintaining durability without added bulk. Dual AI combines local and cloud processing for flexible use in varied environments. Gram Link expands integration beyond traditional platforms, while LG ThinQ adds data protection layers.

Specifications for the 17Z90UR highlight its compact design despite the large screen and high-end GPU. The RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 supports intensive applications. For the 16Z90U, the OLED panel enhances visual quality, paired with Intel Core Ultra for efficiency.

These features build on the LG gram’s focus on mobility, productivity, and cross-device functionality.
