Samsung’s One UI 8 Beta 4 is exhibiting a peculiar camera bug that causes the moon to appear purple and blurry in photos taken with Galaxy devices. This issue, dubbed a “once in a purple moon type of bug,” is affecting users in the US, UK, and India.
The glitch occurs when the device’s Intelligent Optimization setting is set to “Maximum” and the camera zoom exceeds 30x. Users have reported that these purple moon images are also noticeably blurrier compared to photos captured on devices running One UI 7.
The One UI beta team has acknowledged the problem and apologized for the inconvenience. While a timeline for a fix has not been provided, a temporary workaround involves changing the Intelligent Optimization setting to anything other than “Maximum.”
Beta programs often come with unexpected bugs, ranging from minor inconveniences to significant system issues. This particular bug falls into the category of unusual and humorous glitches, impacting how the device processes camera shots of the moon.
