Leaked One UI 7 build surfaces on Galaxy Tab S9 FE

Samsung isn’t supposed to release the stable One UI 7 for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE before June, but someone is already using a leaked build.

The Galaxy Tab S9 tablets, FE variants included, are not included in Samsung’s One UI 7 beta testing program. According to the company, the Fan Edition tablets are supposed to receive the stable One UI 7 update this summer. Here’s the kicker: Someone already has the One UI 7 firmware up and running on their Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablet.

X user @Alfaturk16 has shared a short video and a handful of screenshots that seemingly confirm their Galaxy Tab S9 FE already runs One UI 7. How? According to the source, it’s a leaked internal test build.

The leaked One UI 7 firmware for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE carries version X516BXXU7CYD1 and includes the April 2025 security patch. The whole package weighs 3.6GB.

The video enclosed in the X post shows the firmware version, the tablet’s model number, and a number of One UI 7 features, such as the Now Bar and the relocated app drawer search bar.

UI animations look a tad choppy in the video shared on X, but this could be due to the screen recorder. Either way, this is admittedly a leaked internal One UI 7 build, which means the update is most likely not ready for mass deployment yet.

So far, Samsung has released the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in Korea. More countries should join the party starting tomorrow, April 10. Officially, One UI 7 for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE is planned for a June release, whereas the premium non-FE Tab S9 models should get One UI 7 roughly one month earlier, in May.

If you’re looking for quicker access to One UI 7 on your tablet, the new Galaxy Tab S10 FE series runs Samsung’s latest firmware out of the box, and you might be able to upgrade from the Galaxy Tab S9 FE for cheap through Samsung’s trade-in program if it’s open in your market.
