Reddit is introducing an innovative ad format called “free-form ads” that breathes new life into the user experience. But beware, these ads may look like real videos.

Forget the ads you’ve seen on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X. Unlike those ads, these ads are designed like user posts and blend into the platform’s natural flow.

How do Reddit’s free-form ads work?

Free-form ads combine images, videos, and text to look just like the content shared on a subreddit. This allows users to naturally find the information and products they want without being bombarded with adverts.

The new ad format gives advertisers more freedom to promote their brands and products. Advertisers can use text, images, videos, and surveys to attract users’ attention.

On the other hand, according to data shared by Reddit, free-form ads have a 28 percent higher click-through rate than other ad types. This suggests that users are more interested in the new ad format and more willing to interact with ads.

It remains to be seen what kind of a platform Reddit will become with free-form ads. I can say that the new format can potentially change how people view ads.

In conclusion, Reddit’s free-form ads aim to create a new balance between advertising and user experience. This innovative format is an exciting development for advertisers and users and can potentially drive more engagement and better results.
