Generosity Network is the fundraising platform of PayPal. PayPal has always had a system of individual donations through the payments between friends, the truth is that the company has been begging to launch a pure platform of donations for personal projects despite being one of the most used payment platforms of the entire network.

Now the company has ready to compete with GoFundMe, which represents a tough competitor for the site par excellence that offers this service on the Internet and is widely used to finance personal projects or simply to help individuals through financial donations.

Generosity Network, a donation program that unlike includes some restrictions to make this type of platform more transparent GoFundMe. Most importantly, donations are limited to $20,000 in 30 days, and it is also focused on peer-to-peer help for personal charity projects: As the company points out, Generosity Network campaigns can be created directly from the PayPal website and are deposited directly into the organizer’s account, and it allows funds to be easily distributed to the intended cause, whether it is a small business, a charity, a friend, a family member or for the organizers themselves.

“Generosity Network was designed to provide an accessible, easy and secure way for our customers to raise money on behalf of causes, and connect them with millions of PayPal customers who can offer their support this holiday season and beyond,” said Oktay Dogramaci, vice president of donations at PayPal.

Generosity Network is currently only available in the United States, and PayPal has not announced its arrival in other regions or countries yet. As we said, the limit is set at a maximum of $20,000 for 30 days, so although it is not a 100% alternative to the GoFundMe business, it is the first step to expand the options within its platform and give more tools to users.
