There’s a new player in the electric vehicle (EV) game, and it’s the newest Huawei EV, Huawei Luxeed S7, the latest release from the Chinese tech giant known for smartphones and telecom gear. As they’ve just rolled out their first sedan, it’s safe to say that they’re aiming straight at Tesla’s Model S.

Huawei, a big name in phones and telecom, isn’t stopping there. They’ve been spreading their wings into different tech fields, and now they’re diving headfirst into the EV market. This move speaks volumes about their dedication to innovation and their confidence in EVs shaking up the transportation scene.

How actually good is the new Huawei EV, Huawei Luxeed S7?

So, how does the Luxeed S7 measure up? Well, it’s packing some serious specs. With a range of up to 625 kilometers (388 miles) on one charge and going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, it’s making quite the statement.

Inside, it’s roomy, comes with a panoramic sunroof, and doesn’t skimp on the tech. Think of a Level 3 autonomous driving system, among other bells and whistles.

Huawei didn’t just dive into the EV pool without testing the waters. They’ve been in cahoots with automakers like Chery and BAIC Motor, fine-tuning their EV game for a while. With a solid background in software and electronics, they’re not messing around and are set to give the established players a run for their money.

The challenges that Huawei Luxeed S7 will have to face

Now, the Luxeed S7 isn’t entering this race without some hurdles. Let’s talk about the big elephant in the room – Tesla. The EV heavyweight has a stronghold on the premium market, and breaking into that territory is no cakewalk. Brand loyalty and reputation play a big role here.

But, Huawei’s not playing catch-up without some aces up their sleeve. They’ve got a massive fanbase in China, the hub of the EV world, and a history of turning heads with innovative moves. Plus, teaming up with Chery Automobile brings in some serious manufacturing and distribution expertise.

Also, Huawei Luxeed S7 might have its work cut out against Tesla, but Huawei’s stepping into the ring well-prepared. It’s going to be an interesting bout in the EV arena.

While Huawei hasn’t dropped the official price tag for the Luxeed S7 in the United States, we can do a little math based on its starting price of RMB 258,000 in China – roughly $35,420. If this trend holds, we can anticipate Huawei Luxeed S7 hitting the US market with a price that gives other EVs a run for their money.

Now, let’s talk numbers. The Luxeed S7’s starting point is way below the Tesla Model S, which kicks off at a hefty $95,800. That’s a serious price gap working in Huawei’s favor. This competitive pricing isn’t just a random perk – it’s a strategic move that makes the Luxeed S7 a wallet-friendly choice for folks eyeing a top-notch EV without burning a hole in their pockets.

The showdown between Huawei and Tesla isn’t just about electric vehicles; it’s a battle of tech giants. These two heavyweights are leading the charge in innovation, pushing the limits of technology in their own domains.
