With the release of Patch 6.51, a trio of challenging dungeons, two of which are FFXIV Variant Dungeons, has been introduced, including the Aloalo Island Variant Dungeon, Another Aloalo Island Criterion Dungeon, and the Another Aloalo Island (Savage) Criterion Dungeon. Prepare to embark on an epic adventure, conquer formidable foes, and claim coveted rewards to showcase to your comrades and Free Company members.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to unlock these dungeons, detailing their prerequisites and providing easy access instructions. Plus, there are exciting new minions and a dazzling mount awaiting your conquest, so let’s dive in!
Unlocking each FFXIV Variant Dungeon
Below, you can find the steps you need to take in order to unlock each of the FFXIV Variant Dungeons.
The Aloalo Island Variant Dungeon
To begin your journey, head to Old Sharlayan and seek out Shallow Moor located at coordinates (X:12.0, Y:13.3). Accept the ‘Stranger from Paradise’ quest from Shallow Moor.
Remember, you must have already completed the main scenario quest ‘A Satrap’s Duty’ and had a conversation with Osmon at coordinates (X:11.9, Y:13.3) in Old Sharlayan to be eligible for this quest.
The Another Aloalo Island Criterion Dungeon
Once you’ve triumphed over the challenges of the Aloalo Island Variant Dungeon at least once, venture back to Old Sharlayan and approach Osmon at coordinates (X:11.9, Y:13.3) to unlock the Another Aloalo Island Criterion Dungeon.
Ensure that your character is at Level 90 with an item level of at least 640 to participate in this duty using the party matching option. However, if you prefer to go solo or with your current party, you can enter with a lower item level. The item level sync for this duty is set at 665.
The Another Aloalo Island (Savage) Criterion Dungeon
Having successfully completed Another Aloalo Island at least once, return to Old Sharlayan and engage Osmon at coordinates (X:11.9, Y:13.3) to gain access to the Another Aloalo Island (Savage) Criterion Dungeon.
Your character should be at Level 90 to partake in this duty through the party matching option. Similar to the previous dungeon, you can opt for a lower item level if you choose to go solo or with your current party. The item level sync for this duty is also set at 665.
Accessing Variant and Criterion Dungeons
Once you’ve unlocked any Variant or Criterion dungeon, accessing them is a breeze. Simply utilize the V&C Dungeon Finder located under the ‘Duty’ tab or approach the NPC stationed at the entrance of the respective dungeon.
