Apple publishes a design guide for official iPhone 12 MagSafe accessories

Apple publishes a design guide for official iPhone 12 MagSafe accessories. With the addition of the MagSafe magnetic and wireless charging system on the new iPhone 12, a new generation of accessories is born. The official charger is followed by others from third parties such as Belkin has already announced new products. In order for third-party manufacturers to offer their own MagSafe compatible accessories, Apple has published a very detailed guide.

Apple has dedicated a significant effort to make the job easier for accessory manufacturers. Those who want to make a case, charger or any other product that makes use of this magnetic system, should rely on the document to do so accurately. 13 pages full of indications, requirements, measures and plans like the following one:

The document indicates that the sleeves that incorporate MagSafe should be a maximum of 2.1mm thick (Apple recommends 2mm). Additionally, it is required that the covers are kept in place without the need for magnets. And also they work with both the MagSafe charger and the Apple magnetic cardholder.
