Asus ROG Strix Radeon RX 6800 XT will exceed 2.50GHz at 290W TGP

Asus ROG Strix Radeon RX 6800 XT will exceed 2.50GHz at 290W TGP New rumors are coming in about this model. Those rumors indicate that the Asus ROG Strix Radeon RX 6800 XT, with its Turbo boost, will be able to surpass the 2.50GHz clock speed barrier, which is not a surprise if we look at the clock speeds arriving in the new generation consoles (2.23GHz in the PlayStation 5).

The information is based on engineering samples, so the final frequencies and energy consumption may vary, but it is interesting to know to what extent the partners have managed to do under the RDNA2 architecture. The Asus ROG Strix Radeon RX 6800 XT was shown in the 3DMark 11 benchmark on up to three occasions with variable frequencies (from 1993 to 2557MHz). On the other hand, the 16GB GDDR6 memory is reported to be running at 16GHz.

Asus ROG Strix Radeon RX 6800 XT will exceed 2.50GHz at 290W TGP. The most interesting thing is that this GPU consumed 290W TGP power (silicon + VRAM), so the complete consumption of the GPU is rumored to be between 320 and 355W. The reference models will run around 255W TGP according to these same leaks.

Here are some results with a TGP of 255 W. Don't ask me what's the difference between 255 W and 289 W models.
