How to use the optimized charge feature on watchOS 7?

Apple’s strategy to take care of the battery is optimized charging, a system that charges the Apple Watch up to 80% and waits to charge the rest to finish just when we are going to need it. With this system. This way the battery won’t be stable at 100% for too long, this makes your battery live longer. Follow these steps to activate or deactivate this feature:

  1. Open the Settings app in our Apple Watch.
  2. Enter the Battery.
  3. Tap on Battery Health.
  4. At the bottom we activate or deactivate Optimized Charge.

Note that this system uses our charging patterns to decide the time to fully charge our watch. In this sense, the system uses the location to determine if, for example, we are out of town, something that would deactivate the optimized charge in anticipation of a possible change in schedule. Therefore, remember to have the location activated in Settings > Privacy > Location.

The objective is to keep our clock charged 100% for the least possible time. Along with these measures, Apple has incorporated a notification system so from our iPhone we will know when our Apple Watch is fully charged. We can remove the watch from the charger when we get the notification and thus we prevent it from remaining too long at 100% charge.

No doubt Apple is putting a lot of dedication into being able to counteract the hardware limitations that come with the use of lithium-ion batteries. This way, you’ve learned how to use the optimized charge on watchOS 7.
