PlayStation trophies will be updated tonight. For many PlayStation users, the trophies – first implemented on PlayStation 3 – are an important part of their gaming experience. Getting all the collectibles, finishing the games at maximum difficulty, eliminating a certain amount of enemies in the online and completing specific variables, are just some of the requirements that these users are always looking to cover to unlock their precious trophies.

  • Sony makes its own teardown of PS5 in a new video
  • Which games will be released with the PS5 debut?
  • PS4 to PS5: All confirmed games with free upgrades

That’s why it’s important for them to know that from the night of October 7, 2020, the trophy system will implement changes automatically. In order to avoid any question marks on this subject, Sony published an entry in the official PlayStation blog to explain what the adjustments are about. Note that the changes do not apply to trophies already obtained or to the requirements for unlocking them.

The first major adjustment will be reflected in the trophy level, as the scale will no longer be between 1-100, but it will be between 1-999. This means that those with level 12 will now be located closer to 200, depending on the number of trophies acquired and their grade.

Another change will be seen in the calculation system, as now the level progression will be faster in the first levels to make there more consistency when going up, which translates into an optimized and rewarding experience for the users.

This new calculation also applies to the impact of the trophies on the level of progress, so now a platinum trophy will imply much more value.

PlayStation trophies will be updated tonight. An additional adjustment will be seen in the icons of the trophy levels on PlayStation 5, currently, there is only one gold star. But after the update these variables will be implemented:

  • Bronze: Levels from 1 to 299
  • Silver: Levels from 300 to 599
  • Gold: Levels from 600 to 998
  • Platinum: Level 999
