Xiaomi presents RAMDISK feature for mobile gaming. Video games are getting popular on mobile phones day by day. To make the mobile gaming experience even faster, Xiaomi has decided to add a function that was already used in computers. Until now nobody tried this method on mobile phones.

When you install a video game on a mobile device, it is stored in the internal memory. But there is an unknown feature that allows you to download games into the RAM in computers. There are certain advantages to do so.

  • Xiaomi announces a new Mi 10 5G smartphone
  • Xiaomi introduces under display camera technology
  • Xiaomi launched Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition

This function is known as RAMDISK and Xiaomi has announced that for the first time it will be available on a mobile phone, specifically, on the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. This model is one of the most important devices of the Xiaomi catalog.

To use RAMDISK it is necessary to have a device that has a great capacity of memory. In this case,  Mi 10 Ultra has up to 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage.

By downloading the game into the RAM, the download speed is multiplied and the game experience is faster and more fluid. According to the company‘s data, the RAMDISK feature allows you to increase the download speed and the performance between 40 and 60%. However, it has some downsides too.

If we download the game into the RAM, when we turn off the phone or use other applications, the game will disappear from the phone. This is how RAM works, nothing is permanent. To not lose the game, Xiaomi has established that you can pass the game from RAM to ROM and keep it.

At the moment, the RAMDISK feature will only be activated in the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra as. RAMDISK might be a future tool for every mobile phone, everything depends on the success though.
