ASUS has ceased production of the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti 16GB graphics cards, citing a memory supply shortage that has placed both models into end-of-life status.

Hardware Unboxed reported the development in a recent video, stating that ASUS explicitly informed the channel the RTX 5070 Ti is currently facing a supply shortage. As a result, ASUS has no plans to produce the model going forward. Australian retailers confirmed to Hardware Unboxed that the RTX 5070 Ti is no longer available from partners and distributors, with shortages expected to persist at least through the first quarter of the year. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is also nearly depleted, and ASUS confirmed it will not manufacture additional units. Both are 16GB models, which cost more to produce amid current market conditions.

While some stock might allow a potential return later this year, Hardware Unboxed indicated such an outcome is unlikely.

An NVIDIA spokesperson told Engadget: “Demand for GeForce RTX GPUs is strong, and memory supply is constrained. We continue to ship all GeForce SKUs and are working closely with our suppliers to maximize memory availability.” ASUS did not respond to Engadget’s request for comment.

Following the video’s release, Hardware Unboxed issued a clarification: “ASUS did not tell us that NVIDIA said the RTX 5070 Ti has been discontinued. ASUS told us there is very little supply of the 5070 Ti, so their own 5070 Ti products (e.g., the Prime and TUF Gaming) have been put into end-of-life status.” The channel added that with retailers unable to source RTX 5070 Ti units from any add-in-board partner, the product is effectively discontinued.

The shortages stem from the AI boom, which has spiked demand for RAM and other components from data-center operators. Memory manufacturers have redirected production toward high-bandwidth memory for these clients, reducing availability and driving up prices for consumer RAM and GPUs. In December, Micron Technology announced it would phase out its consumer-facing Crucial brand to prioritize AI industry component supply.
