Samsung Electronics unveiled its “Companion to AI Living” vision at The First Look, its CES 2026 event in the Latour Ballroom at the Wynn Las Vegas. The company held an exclusive exhibition through January 7. The event focused on AI as Samsung’s philosophy that connects research and development, product development, operations, and user experience.
TM Roh, CEO and Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience Division, opened the event. He described Samsung’s AI leadership and its connected ecosystem that provides a true AI companion experience in daily life. Roh stated, “Samsung is building a more unified, more personal experience across mobile, visual display, home appliances and services.” He added, “With our global connected ecosystem, and by embedding AI across categories, Samsung is leading the way to offer more meaningful everyday AI experiences.” This approach allows users to access more than basic technology functions and find meaningful moments.
Entertainment Companion
SW Yong, President and Head of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, and Sukhmani Mohta, Chief Marketing and Partnerships Officer for the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics America, presented Samsung’s entertainment companion lineup. Samsung combines hardware excellence and visual intelligence in its displays. The company has led the TV industry for 20 years and offers a full AI TV lineup for new user interactions.
The 130-inch Micro-RGB TV serves as the center of the display lineup. It features a new era of color with the widest and most detailed spectrum in Samsung TVs. Its Timeless Frame design minimizes distractions and emphasizes the picture. A micro-sized RGB light source produces pure, natural color through independent red, green, and blue diodes. The Micro-RGB AI Engine Pro controls RGB colors precisely for vivid picture quality in every scene.
Vision AI Companion (VAC) enhances viewing, dining, and mood as a full entertainment companion. It provides guidance on what to watch, eat, and listen to. VAC includes AI Soccer Mode Pro, which tunes picture and sound to stadium-level quality for soccer fans. AI Sound Controller Pro adjusts volumes for crowd, commentary, or background music in TV shows and movies. Users make verbal requests, and VAC works on Micro LED, Micro RGB, OLED, Neo QLED, Mini LED, and UHD TVs.
VAC boosts lifestyle experiences across programming. Users find recipes for meals seen on TV by asking. It uses up-to-date information for recommendations aligned with health and fitness goals. VAC sends recommended recipes to other devices, including the newly unveiled The Movingstyle, designed to move easily throughout the home and kitchen appliances. This creates a multi-device experience through ecosystem integration.
Samsung has led the global soundbar market for 11 consecutive years. The company introduced Wi-Fi speakers Music Studio 5 and 7. These support wider sound system combinations, improve audiovisual quality, and enhance space aesthetics. Both models feature a timeless dot design concept by Erwan Bouroullec, inspired by universal symbols in music and art, and aligned with Samsung’s design language.
Samsung unveiled products that blend with home aesthetics. The ultra-thin OLED S95H has a refined bezel for art gallery elegance. The Freestyle+ portable projector, powered by VAC, displays content on walls, ceilings, corners, and curtains, including uneven surfaces.
The 2026 TV lineup introduces HDR10+ ADVANCED as the first to launch this format. It delivers enhanced brightness, genre-based optimization, intelligent motion smoothing, advanced local tone mapping, and improved gaming experience. As HDR10+ adoption grows among major OTT providers, this lineup leads the implementation. All 2026 TVs feature Eclipsa Audio, Samsung’s new spatial sound system.
Samsung revealed its most advanced Odyssey gaming monitor lineup with five new models. These push boundaries in resolution, refresh rate, and immersive performance. The lineup includes the first 6K 3D Odyssey G9, next-generation Odyssey G6, and three new Odyssey G8 models. The most powerful Tizen OS powers these displays, with seven years of upgrades to evolve after entering homes.
Home Companion
Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Appliances Division at Samsung Electronics, and Elizabeth Anderson, Head of Integrated Marketing for Digital Appliances at Samsung Electronics America, outlined the Home Companion vision. Samsung evolves home appliances into companions that eliminate daily chore stress. As of December 2025, SmartThings serves more than 430 million users, providing scale and insight that distinguish Samsung.
The Family Hub AI-enabled refrigerator acts as the home centerpiece. It upgrades to AI Vision built with Google Gemini, redefining food recognition. It tracks items placed in and taken out, simplifying meal planning and management. The Family Hub has won 10 CES Innovation Awards, with Samsung’s AI-enabled fridges receiving the award for three consecutive years.
The “What’s for Today?” feature gamifies recipe recommendations based on refrigerator contents or randomly. Selected recipes appear through SmartThings Food with step-by-step guides. Recipes send to connected cooking appliances to start processes seamlessly. Video to Recipe converts cooking videos into easy steps, allowing users to follow without pausing or backtracking.
FoodNote provides weekly reports on food intake patterns, most-used ingredients, recipe recommendations, and restock needs. Now Brief adds widgets to the Family Hub screen. Voice ID distinguishes family members and displays personalized content. These features deliver helpful insights throughout the week.
The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo eliminates load transfers with a super-speed cycle and enhanced drying performance. The Bespoke AI AirDresser features Auto Wrinkle Care, using strong air and steam jets to smooth shirts. Users hang shirts and wait, easing busy mornings.
The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra uses a Qualcomm Dragonwing processor and Active Stereo 3D Sensor to recognize liquids like coffee, juice, or water. Its camera aids navigation and monitors pets or suspicious activity when users are away. A smarter Bixby enables conversational control for tasks. Samsung’s Bespoke AI appliances received a CES Innovation Award for connectivity and integration.
Samsung announced a partnership with Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB). HSB President and CEO Greg M. Barats discussed connecting smart appliances to SmartThings for reduced insurance premiums. After a successful 2025 U.S. pilot, the collaboration expands to more U.S. states and global carriers. This provides increased protections and lower costs.
Care Companion
Praveen Raja, Vice President and Head of Digital Health at Samsung Research America, introduced the Care Companion vision. Samsung’s integrated device ecosystem enables intelligent care, shifting from reactive to proactive. AI across phones, appliances, wearables, and connected devices prevents health concerns.
Samsung provides personalized health coaching with exercise, sleep advice to reduce chronic disease risks, and recipes based on refrigerator ingredients. It detects abnormal signs or patterns, alerts users, shares metrics via Xealth with providers, and supports virtual consultations. Samsung expands dementia detection through research partnerships. Wearables register changes in mobility, speech, and engagement indicating cognitive shifts.
Samsung Knox and Knox Matrix form the security foundation for this ecosystem. They safeguard data continuously. As AI evolves, Knox and Knox Matrix identify risks, protect data in AI training, and approve models through red-team analysis.
