CMF, the budget-focused sub-brand from Nothing, has announced its first pair of over-ear wireless headphones, the CMF Headphone Pro. Nothing plans to spin off CMF into a standalone subsidiary. The new headphones feature a design with soft curves, round earcups and cushions, and a padded headband, borrowing the multi-function roller control from Nothing’s Headphone 1 which was released in July.
The CMF Headphone Pro is available immediately in the EU and UK. Customers in the United States must wait until October 7, 2025, to purchase the headphones. The US price is set at $99, which is considerably less than the $299 price of the Nothing Headphone 1. The Headphone Pro is available in dark gray, light green, and light gray. For additional customization, replacement ear cushions are sold separately for $25 in bright orange or light green.
Instead of touch-sensitive panels, the headphones are equipped with tactile buttons. These controls include a round power/Bluetooth button on one side and a matching action button on the other, which can be customized via the Nothing X app. The multi-function roller adjusts volume, controls media playback, and modifies the level of ambient sound. A distinct feature is the “Energy Slider,” a physical control that allows users to quickly adjust the treble and bass balance without accessing the app’s EQ settings.
The headphones offer adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) that automatically adjusts its intensity based on the surrounding ambient noise. The internal 720 mAh battery delivers up to 100 hours of playback on a full charge. With ANC enabled, the battery life is reduced to a maximum of 50 hours.
With ANC activated, the Headphone Pro’s battery life is 15 hours longer than that of the Headphone 1. The performance also surpasses Sony’s WH-1000XM6, which provides up to 40 hours of playback, or 30 hours with ANC. The device supports fast charging, with a five-minute charge providing up to four hours of listening time. The headphones can also be recharged by connecting them directly to many smartphones with a USB-C cable.
