Nintendo announced a new Nintendo Direct for September 2025, highlighting upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch and its successor, the Nintendo Switch 2. The 60-minute presentation is the first general Direct of the Switch 2 era and is scheduled for Friday, September 12, 2025, at 6 AM PT.
The event promises new announcements, release dates, and updates on titles for 2025 and 2026. Given the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., related announcements are expected. Key titles anticipated include Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Kirby Air Riders, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A, along with rumored remakes of classic Sega titles like Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio.
The broadcast may also feature new Pokémon games beyond the Legends lineup, special anniversary content, and surprises from partners like Sega and Atlus. The Metroid Prime 4: Beyond trailer is expected, though a release date remains unconfirmed.
The live stream will be available on Nintendo’s official website, the Nintendo Today app, and YouTube. A Nintendo Direct Bingo card has been created for viewers to enhance engagement, featuring a variety of categories from trailers and release dates to hardware teases and new character reveals.
