Samsung is anticipated to launch its inaugural tri-folding smartphone later this year, with a recent leak detailing its folding mechanism. Unlike Huawei’s Mate X and Mate XTs, the Galaxy Z TriFold will conceal its folding screen when closed, differentiating itself from designs that leave a portion of the screen exposed.
This design choice necessitates a separate cover display, offering the significant advantage of protecting the delicate folding screen from external elements, pocket debris, and potential damage from drops. A preview of the Galaxy Z TriFold’s multitasking capabilities was released in August.
Rumors suggest an unveiling in October followed by a November release. The device is expected to feature a 6.54-inch cover screen and a 10.1-inch folding screen, with a weight of 298g. Powering the Galaxy Z TriFold will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
