Lego has unveiled the Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars Death Star set, currently the largest Lego Star Wars set ever produced. The set, comprised of 9,023 pieces, is priced at $999.99.
The official release date is October 4, with early access available for Lego Insiders starting October 1. There is no pre-order option available, so fans will need to wait until the release date to purchase the set.
Lego is offering a bonus for early purchasers: those who buy the Death Star set between October 1 and 7 will receive a free Lego Star Wars TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack, while supplies last.
The Death Star set is detailed and includes 38 Star Wars minifigures. These minifigures include two versions of Luke Skywalker (Jedi and Stormtrooper), two versions of Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2, along with Stormtroopers and the Royal Guard.
The set also features several locations from the original Star Wars trilogy, including the trash compactor, Emperor Palpatine’s throne room, Princess Leia’s prison cell, the tractor-beam control unit, and the Imperial shuttle hangar.
The design of the set is open, allowing viewers to see each section of the station and the scenes depicted within. The assembled model measures 20.6 inches (52.3 cm) in height, 18.9 inches (48.0 cm) in width, and 15.1 inches (38.3 cm) in depth.
The set will be available for purchase on October 4, with early access for Lego Insiders starting on October 1.
