Ming-Chi Kuo has revised his earlier prediction and now claims that the AirPods Pro 3 will be unveiled next week at Apple’s “Awe dropping” event alongside the iPhone 17. This contradicts his initial statement that the earbuds wouldn’t be released until 2026.
Kuo’s updated report aligns with rumors from Bloomberg and other sources, particularly regarding Apple’s continued work on integrating cameras into the AirPods Pro. A more substantial hardware upgrade, featuring an IR camera, is anticipated in 2026, with the AirPods Pro 3 expected to launch in the second half of 2025.
The new AirPods Pro 3 are rumored to include a heart-rate monitoring sensor, similar to the Powerbeats Pro 2, and will feature Apple’s new H3 audio chip, which promises improved sound quality and connectivity. Additionally, reports suggest that the charging case for the AirPods Pro 3 will be slightly smaller than the current model.
