Hollow Knight: Silksong is rumored to retail for under $20/£20/€20, according to a now-deleted GameStop listing and corroborated by Dealabs leaker Billbil-Kun. The GameStop listing initially fueled speculation about a placeholder price, particularly as players were unable to complete the checkout process.
Billbil-Kun’s report reveals specific pricing for Steam and GOG platforms across various regions. In the UK, the Steam price is reportedly £16.75, while the European price is €19.50 on Steam and €8.29 on GOG. In the United States, both Steam and GOG are listed at $19.99. Canadian prices are $25.99 on Steam and $27.19 on GOG. Australia will see prices of $29.50 on Steam and $30.19 on GOG. New Zealand’s Steam price is listed as $28.99. The GOG price in Japan is ¥2939.
Pricing for console versions, including Switch, remains unknown. Furthermore, Dealabs suggests that there are currently no plans for a physical release of Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is slated for release on September 4th, 2025, on PC, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Team Cherry stated that the extended development time was due to the team “having too much fun making it.”
The announcement of the release date so close to launch has reportedly impacted other games with early September release dates, placing them in a challenging position.
