WhatsApp is developing a voicemail-like feature that allows users to quickly record a voice message when a call goes unanswered. According to WABetaInfo, the feature is currently available in the latest Android beta, but not yet on iOS. When a call is missed, a “Record voice message” button will appear, streamlining the process of leaving a voice note instead of manually navigating to the chat interface.
The addition comes shortly after WABetaInfo reported WhatsApp is also testing a reminders feature to help users remember to return missed calls. While the company invests in these call-related functionalities, there is no confirmed timeline for public release, and the feature is not yet available on the iOS TestFlight.
