Honor is reportedly preparing to launch the Magic V Flip 2, a vertical foldable phone that aims to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. The upcoming device is expected to feature design upgrades, particularly in the camera area, according to DirectorShiGuan.

A key change involves the camera sensors. Unlike the original Magic V Flip, which had a large main camera sensor paired with a smaller 12MP ultrawide-angle lens, the Magic V Flip 2 is rumored to have both lenses of the same size. This design approach may mirror the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s camera arrangement, which features two sensors aligned at the top of the cover screen.

Beyond camera hardware, Honor is also said to be refreshing the cover display’s user interface, making it “more comprehensive and beautiful.” The Magic V Flip 2 is also expected to boast improvements in battery life and imaging capabilities compared to its predecessor.

While foldable phones aren’t necessarily known for their photographic prowess, recent models, including the Galaxy Z Flip/Fold 7 and Magic V5, have been focusing on enhanced imaging features, often incorporating AI-powered camera functions and photo-editing tools. It is anticipated that the Magic V Flip 2 will follow this trend.

The Honor Magic V Flip 2 is likely to be officially unveiled next month. Further details about the device are expected to emerge in the lead-up to its launch.
