TikTok has expanded its “Add to Music app” feature to include YouTube Music as a new option for users looking to save songs discovered on the social media platform, according to TechCrunch. The integration allows users to send songs directly from TikTok to their YouTube Music account, where they will appear in a dedicated “TikTok Songs” playlist.

The “Add to Music app” feature was initially launched in 2023 with limited partnerships including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. At that time, it was only available to users in the United States and United Kingdom. Since then, TikTok has significantly expanded the feature’s reach, now supporting over 160 countries and additional services including Deezer and SoundCloud.

When users select YouTube Music as their preferred service, it becomes the default app for saving songs from TikTok. This setting can be modified through the app’s Settings menu under the Music section. The integration is designed to streamline the process of saving and organizing music discovered while browsing TikTok content.

According to Tracy Gardner, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, the feature has delivered substantial results for the music industry. “Add to Music App continues to deliver real results for the music industry, with hundreds of millions of track saves translating into billions of streams on music streaming services,” Gardner stated in a recent announcement about the expansion.
