Amazon has expanded its color e-reader lineup with two new devices, a 16GB Kindle Colorsoft model and a Kindle Colorsoft Kids bundle. Both are available for purchase starting today.
The new 16GB Kindle Colorsoft is priced at $249.99 and features a color display, adjustable warm light, and weeks of battery life. This model joins the existing Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition, which remains at $279.99 and includes 32GB of storage, an auto-adjusting front light, and wireless charging.
The Kindle Colorsoft Kids is priced at $269.99. The bundle includes the 16GB Colorsoft device, a choice between two kid-friendly covers (“Fantasy River” or “Starlight Reading”), a one-year subscription to the Amazon Kids+ service, and a two-year warranty. The device includes software features like Vocabulary Builder and Word Wise, and parents can manage content and set device bedtimes through the Amazon Parent Dashboard.

In conjunction with the launch, Amazon announced it is adding more books to its Amazon Kids+ subscription service this summer. New additions will include graphic novels and chapter books from the Artemis Fowl series, over 30 books from the Big Nate series, and additional titles from the Percy Jackson, Storm Runner, and Aru Shah series.
