The game is set to release on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms nearly a month earlier, on September 12, 2025. This date was an advancement from its previously scheduled September 23, 2025 release. Initial speculation suggested the change aimed to avoid a conflict with Grand Theft Auto 6, though GTA 6 has since been delayed.
Randy Pitchford has expressed positive feedback regarding the development process for the Switch 2, stating it “has been a joy to work with.” However, no specific reason was provided for the later release of the Nintendo Switch 2 version compared to the other platforms. Borderlands 4 will be priced at $70 at launch across all platforms.
