A leaked render of Samsung’s anticipated Galaxy Buds 3 FE suggests a premium design that closely resembles the higher-end Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. The image, initially shared by leaker @evleaks and subsequently reported by 9to5Google before being removed from X, displays a stemmed form factor and includes silicone ear tips.
This design choice contrasts with the base Galaxy Buds 3, which feature an open design without ear tips, reminiscent of Apple’s AirPods. The adoption of a premium hardware design for a more affordable Fan Edition product could offer a high-end aesthetic without the associated premium price, potentially appealing to users who found the fit of the standard Buds 3 less comfortable.
Evidence of the Galaxy Buds 3 FE (model number R420) was previously discovered in June within Samsung’s Wear OS Buds Controller app, indicating its development. It is important to note that these earbuds are distinct from the Galaxy Buds Core, which launched last month in India and is considered a successor to the original Galaxy Buds FE.
While the leaked render provides insight into the external appearance, details regarding internal features remain unknown. It is currently unclear whether the Buds 3 FE will retain premium functionalities found in the Buds 3 Pro, such as LED Blade Lights or advanced audio capabilities. Historically, Samsung’s Fan Edition products often streamline features like high-end codecs, multi-driver audio, and smart Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to achieve a more accessible price point.
Official information on pricing and a release date has not yet been disclosed. However, the emergence of these images speculatively points to a potential launch alongside upcoming devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 at a future Samsung Unpacked event.
