Google is rolling out its Gemini AI to Wear OS watches, nearly two months after its initial May tease. This integration, part of Google’s plan to replace Google Assistant across its platforms, will be available on Pixel, Samsung, OPPO, OnePlus, and Xiaomi watches running Wear OS 4+ in the coming weeks.
Users can activate Gemini by saying “Hey, Google,” pressing and holding the side button, or tapping the Gemini app icon. Gemini will facilitate task completion across apps, such as summarizing emails or adding calendar events, and can remember details like parking locations.

Additionally, Google is enhancing Circle to Search with AI Mode, allowing users to delve into complex topics and ask follow-up questions without switching applications. After a Circle to Search query, an AI Overview will appear, enabling users to “Dive deeper with AI Mode.” AI Mode is now also accessible via the Google app on Android and iOS in the U.S. and India. Circle to Search functionality is extending to mobile gaming for identifying characters or strategies.
Google is also improving AI Overviews with better formatting and visuals. Pixel 9 Pro owners will receive a free one-year subscription to Google AI Pro, including access to Veo 3 for generating short videos from descriptions.
