Gearbox Software and 2K Games are gearing up for the release of Borderlands 4, slated to hit shelves on September 12, 2025. Preorders for the highly anticipated title are already underway, marking the next chapter in the popular looter-shooter franchise.

The standard edition of Borderlands 4 will retail for $70, a price point that has stirred some discussion among fans. This marks the most expensive standard edition in the Borderlands series to date, reflecting the increasing costs associated with game development and the desire to deliver a high-quality experience.

In addition to the game itself, fans can also look forward to “The Art of Borderlands 4,” a collectible coffee table book offering a behind-the-scenes look at the game’s development. This art book is scheduled for release on September 30, 2025, a little over two weeks after the game’s launch.

Priced at $55, “The Art of Borderlands 4” features 224 pages of artwork and commentary. The book is designed in an oversized 9×12-inch format, making it suitable for display on coffee tables or bookshelves. It includes a variety of visual materials, such as sketches, line art, and concept art, providing insights into the artistic process behind Borderlands 4.

The book also offers commentary from the development team, offering context and anecdotes about the creation of the game’s characters, environments, and overall aesthetic. While the art book won’t be available until after the game’s release, it promises to be a valuable addition for fans who want to delve deeper into the world of Borderlands 4.

For those interested in preordering “The Art of Borderlands 4” through Amazon, the retailer offers a preorder price guarantee. According to Amazon’s help page, this means that if the price of the book decreases between the time of purchase and the release date, customers will be charged the lowest price. This policy provides some reassurance for pre-order customers, as they may benefit from potential discounts that emerge before the book ships.

Given that Borderlands 4 will be released two weeks prior to the art book, there is a possibility that the preorder price of the book could be reduced during that period. This makes preordering an attractive option for fans who want to secure their copy and potentially take advantage of any price drops.
