Samsung is preparing to launch its first mixed-reality headset, internally known as Project Moohan. In anticipation, the company recently showcased a cutting-edge OLEDoS panel designed for such devices, boasting a remarkable brightness of 20,000 nits.

OLEDoS panels utilize a silicon substrate instead of traditional glass or plastic, enabling higher brightness, resolution, and pixel density. Primarily used in small screens, Samsung’s exhibited panel also incorporates a Micro Lens Array to further enhance brightness and viewing angles.

It remains uncertain whether the showcased 1.3-inch panel with 20,000 nits will be integrated into Samsung’s upcoming XR headset. The company might opt for its flagship OLEDoS panel, revealed last month, which features a pixel density of 5,000 ppi, a peak brightness of 15,000 nits, and a 120Hz variable refresh rate.

During the Augmented World Expo (AWE) 2025 in the U.S., Samsung unveiled several other advanced display technologies. These included a White OLEDoS panel, two QD-OLED gaming monitors, a Flexible Gaming OLED, a 12.4-inch rollable and foldable panel, a multi-foldable OLED, and a micro-LED stretchable display.
