The MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ mobile processor has been launched as a minor upgrade to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9400, with a key improvement being a slightly faster clock speed for its main CPU core.

The Dimensity 9400+ features a CPU configuration that includes one ARM Cortex-X925 core clocked at up to 3.73 GHz, an increase from the 3.63 GHz of the Dimensity 9400. Essentially, the 9400+ can be considered a higher-bin version of the 9400. The CPU configuration remains largely the same, with three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores accompanying the Cortex-X925 core.

In terms of memory and storage, the Dimensity 9400+ continues to support LPDDR5X RAM at a maximum frequency of 10,667 Mbps and UFS 4 storage, ensuring high-performance data access and processing. The processor also retains a robust set of connectivity features, including Sub6 5G, support for various satellite navigation systems such as GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC, Wi-Fi 7 with a peak data rate of 7.3 Gbps, and Bluetooth 6.0 with a peak data rate of 12 Mbps.

The Dimensity 9400+ also boasts impressive camera and display capabilities. It supports camera sensors with resolutions up to 320 MP and is capable of 8K60 video recording. For displays, it can handle resolutions up to WQHD+ and refresh rates of up to 180 Hz, making it suitable for high-end smartphones with advanced display features.

The Immortalis-G925MC12 GPU in the Dimensity 9400+ remains unchanged from the Dimensity 9400, indicating that the graphical processing capabilities are consistent with its predecessor. However, the NPU 890, which is part of the Dimensity 9400+, now features 20% faster agentic AI performance thanks to Speculative Decoding+. This enhancement is aimed at facilitating the development of sophisticated agentic AI applications by allowing developers to easily transform traditional AI applications.

The first smartphones to utilize the Dimensity 9400+ are the Oppo Find X8s and Find X8s+, with the upcoming vivo X200s also slated to use this processor. These devices are expected to leverage the enhanced performance and features offered by the Dimensity 9400+, particularly in areas such as AI processing and overall system performance.
