Leaked images and video of the alleged Pixel 9a emerged from a Lucha Libre match in Mexico City, where a leaker filmed the event using the device, showcasing its features.

Device specifications and design details

The leak, first reported by 9to5Google, included a YouTube Shorts video featuring the phone in a black colorway. The tipster displayed the device from various angles before using it to film the wrestling match.

The Pixel 9a is anticipated to measure 154mm in height and 73mm in width. In the video, the leaker positioned the phone against a bag of snacks, providing a visual comparison of its size. The design features rounded corners and an almost flat rear panel, which bears the signature “G” logo and a new camera array.

Notably, the impending model seems to adopt a flatter look, moving away from the traditional camera bump. Instead, the Pixel 9a may feature a pill-shaped horizontal camera casing that integrates the camera lenses into the back panel.

The rear camera setup is expected to consist of a 48 MP primary lens and a 13 MP ultrawide lens, both of which the leaker used to capture the Lucha Libre match. The publication notes that while the leaker claimed to use the device for filming, it remains uncertain if all shots in the video were actually taken with the Pixel 9a.

Additional information reveals that the Pixel 9a is expected to be equipped with a 6.28-inch FHD+ OLED screen, powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chipset. It will reportedly include 8GB of RAM and options for either 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The device is also rumored to house a 5,100 mAh battery and will run Android 15 out of the box. Recent leaks have highlighted the launch timeline, suggesting the device could be unveiled in March or during Google I/O in May.

The Pixel 9a is already listed with an official case from Spigen, specifically the Ultra Hybrid Back Cover, which is available for the rest of the Pixel 9 series. Spigen India has included marketing materials showcasing the design of the case and the phone.

The extensive leaks surrounding the Pixel 9a underscore its status as one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year, with numerous details emerging ahead of its anticipated launch.
