Sony is set to release a limited edition DualSense controller themed around The Last of Us, launching on April 10, 2025, coinciding with the PC debut of The Last of Us Part 2 on April 3 and the second season of its HBO adaptation starting April 13.
Sony to release limited edition Last of Us controller
The DualSense wireless controller, officially named The Last of Us Limited Edition, features a black-and-white design with glossy trophy icons representing significant moments, characters, and events from both games. Key images include the Fireflies’ spray-painted logo from Part 1, alongside a moth and wolf symbolizing the relationship between Ellie and Abby in Part 2.
Naughty Dog stated, “We wanted to ensure that both instalments of The Last of Us are represented, via trophy icons printed in black gloss across the controller body. Among the trophies, three particular images will immediately stand out for TLOU fans: The firefly, moth, and wolf.”
Pre-order details and pricing
The Last of Us DualSense controller will retail for $84.99 USD, €84.99, or £74.99, depending on the region. Pre-orders will open on March 14, 2025, at 7 AM PT in the US and at 10 AM local time across Europe. This controller release coincides with broader developments surrounding The Last of Us franchise, including the anticipated launch of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC, which will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Concurrently, the second season of the HBO adaptation aims to bring the story to an even larger audience.

Naughty Dog’s co-president Neil Druckmann recently indicated that there may not be a The Last of Us Part 3, stating, “don’t bet” on the existence of a sequel, despite not completely ruling it out. Druckmann also acknowledged that the storyline felt complete with the previous game and that both he and Naughty Dog are focused on new projects post-TV series.
