After their CES 2025 debut, AMD’s latest high-end processors, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D, will be available on March 12th, with anticipated minor price hikes.
AMD to launch Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D on March 12
According to the leaker @harukaze5719, AMD has confirmed March 12 as the launch date for the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D processors. According to @9550pro on X, leaked retail prices indicate that the Ryzen 9 9950X3D will be priced at 5599 RMB (approximately $772 USD), while the Ryzen 9 9900X3D is expected to retail for 4599 RMB (around $634 USD). These prices suggest a slight increase compared to previous models.
Reports indicate that the US prices could vary, with earlier listings on Amazon and Newegg showing the 9900X3D at $599 and the 9950X3D at $699. Both models are anticipated to be priced similarly to their predecessors, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D and 7950X3D, which launched at $599 and $699, respectively.
Processor specifications and compatibility
The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D will feature 12 cores, with 6 cores on each chiplet (CCD), one of which includes an additional 64 MB L3 cache. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D, on the other hand, will have 16 cores configured as 8 cores on each CCD and will maintain identical clock speeds to its non-X3D variant. Both CPUs are expected to deliver top-tier productivity and gaming performance, capable of competing with high-end Intel processors.
Both new Ryzen 9 processors will be compatible with all AM5 chipsets, including the 600 series and 800 series chipsets. Availability details at launch remain unclear.
