Apple has unveiled the latest iteration of its iPad Air, featuring the M3 chip and a redesigned Magic Keyboard. The announcement, made on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, introduces both 11-inch and 13-inch models of the iPad Air.
The integration of the M3 chip promises a performance boost for the new iPad Air. According to Apple, the new iPad Air should offer up to 20% faster performance compared to the previous model, which housed the M2 chip, released in May 2024.
The updated Magic Keyboard is designed to enhance user experience with several improvements. It has a bigger trackpad, and has function keys for adjusting display brightness and volume controls. The keyboard connects magnetically, utilizing the Smart Connector for instant power and data transfer, eliminating the need for Bluetooth pairing. Additionally, the new Magic Keyboard has a USB-C port in its hinge, and can charge other accessories via pass-through charging.
Pre-orders for the new iPad Air models began on March 4, 2025, with the official launch slated for March 12. In the United States, the pricing remains consistent with previous models, with the 11-inch Air continues to start at $599, and the 13-inch model is going to start at $799.
The new Magic Keyboard is available in white and is priced at $269 for the 11-inch iPad Air, and at $319 for the 13-inch iPad Air.
