Recent leaks, including a hands-on video, have revealed details about the upcoming Pixel 9a, which appears cheaper than its predecessors. Google has not announced an official launch date, but it is expected to arrive in late March.
Specifications of Pixel 9a
Leaks suggest the Pixel 9a will feature the Tensor G4 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and a 120Hz OLED screen. These specifications aim to combine flagship hardware with a more affordable price point.

Changes in design have been noted to maintain lower production costs, which typically involve the use of cheaper materials for the chassis or frame. The recent hands-on leak shared by Shane Craig, despite being in a now-removed video, shows that the hardware modifications are extensive.
The rear panel of the Obsidian model of the Pixel 9a has been described as looking very cheap compared to previous models, the 7a and 8a. Although those devices also had material changes, they did not appear as inexpensive as the Pixel 9a. A follow-up post from Craig mentioned that the Pixel 9a has a “Nokia Lumia” plastic aesthetic that feels good in the hand.
Redesign elements include a newly styled camera bar and unique plastic rings that differ significantly from the designs of the previous three Pixel A-series phones. The camera features a plastic ring, and the matte finish aligns more closely with the current generation of devices.
