Google is set to officially announce the Pixel 9A on March 19, 2024, with a release date of March 26. According to leaked renders from Android Headlines, a design with almost no camera bump and four color options (Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony, and Iris) is on its way.
Features of the Pixel 9A
The Pixel 9A will feature a 48-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 13-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. The main sensor size is 1/2″ with an f/1.7 aperture, which is a shift from the previous model’s 64-megapixel sensor.

This model will come with a 5,100mAh battery, an increase from the 4,492mAh battery in the Pixel 8A, giving it the largest battery ever in a Pixel phone. The charging speeds will remain unchanged at 23W wired and 7.5W wireless.
The Pixel 9A is reported to have a 6.3-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by a Tensor G4 chip and equipped with 8GB of RAM. The only storage options will be 128GB and 256GB, with the latter priced at $599 and the former starting at $499.

Pre-order and model information
Pre-orders for the Pixel 9A will open on March 19, 2024. The model numbers for the different colors and storage variants include: Pixel 9A (Iris): GA09564-GB (128GB), GA09585-GB (256GB); Pixel 9A (Obsidian): GA05769-GB (128GB), GA09566-GB (256GB); Pixel 9A (Peony): GA09565-GB (128GB); and Pixel 9A (Porcelain): GA09563-GB (128GB).
The device dimensions are 154 x 73 x 8.9mm. The design features uniform bezels, although they are not particularly slim. The changes mark a notable redesign compared to the rest of the Pixel 9 lineup, which typically includes a flat camera bar.
The Pixel 9A is positioned to compete in the budget smartphone market, notably against Apple’s upcoming fourth iPhone SE, which is expected to launch shortly.
