Honor officially launched its flagship Magic 7 Pro in the UK and Europe on January 15, 2025, featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a high-resolution 200MP telephoto camera.

Honor Magic 7 Pro features and specifications

The Magic 7 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, also equipped with 12GB of RAM and a 5,270mAh silicon-carbon battery, which helps it maintain a thickness below 9mm. The device supports both IP68 and IP69 ratings, providing protection against dust, water submersion, steam, and high-pressure water jets.

The camera system includes a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a unique 200MP telephoto camera with a periscope system. The telephoto camera offers a native 3x optical zoom, which can be combined with 2x digital crops for a total of 6x optical-quality zoom images. An AI Super Zoom feature enhances images taken at up to 100x magnification.

In addition to its powerful specifications, the device runs on MagicOS 9.0, which incorporates Google’s Gemini AI for enhanced features like translation and note-taking. Honor has also integrated its own AI capabilities, enhancing photography with tools such as AI Motion Sensing Capture and HD Super Burst, which captures up to 10 burst shots per second.

The display measures 6.82 inches, utilizing a quad-curved AMOLED LTPO panel with a refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The global version of the phone has a slightly reduced battery capacity compared to its Chinese counterpart, which launched with a 5,850mAh battery.

Charging capabilities include 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging with the proprietary Honor air-cooled wireless charger. The device is available for order starting at £1,099.99 / €1,299 (about $1,340), while the Magic 7 Lite, a midrange handset, is priced at £399.99 / €369.

The Honor Magic 7 Pro follows its launch in China in November 2024, becoming one of the first non-Chinese phones to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This phone enters a competitive market, arriving shortly after the OnePlus 13 and ahead of the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 series.

Honor‘s growth in global market share in 2024 reflects the success of its previous flagship series, including the Magic 6 and the Magic V3 foldable phone. The company aims to solidify its standing as a key player in the Android flagship segment with the Magic 7 Pro.

The integration of AI is central to the Magic 7 Pro’s appeal, with Honor collaborating closely with Qualcomm to enhance gaming performance through AI real-time rendering technology and AI predictive scheduling, which helps maintain high and consistent frame rates.

Alongside the Magic 7 Pro, Honor has launched the Magic 7 Lite, which features the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor and runs on Android 14, boasting a 6,600mAh battery designed to last three days on a single charge.
