Dell Technologies Inc. announced a complete rebranding of its laptop and desktop lines at CES 2025, replacing longtime model names like Inspiron, XPS, Latitude, and Precision with a simplified structure: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max.
New product lines detailed
The Dell series now encompasses three main categories: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max, with each category further divided into Base, Plus, and Premium versions. Dell’s Chief Operating Officer Jeff Clarke stated that customers prefer easily memorable names, indicating a shift towards simplicity to improve user comprehension.
The Dell Plus models, which succeed the former Inspiron line, include the new 14-inch and 16-inch Dell Plus laptops. These devices feature Intel Core Ultra Series 2 CPUs and offer configurations of 16GB or 32GB of RAM, with storage options up to 2TB. The Dell 14 Plus has a choice between a 1,920×1,200-pixel touch display or a 2.5K (2,560×1,600) non-touch display. In contrast, the Dell 16 Plus allows users to upgrade the base display to a QHD+ (3,200×1,800) mini-LED panel with touch capabilities. The Dell 14 Plus weighs 3.42 pounds, while the Dell 16 Plus weighs 4.52 pounds. Both models will begin shipping on February 18, with starting prices set at $1,099 for the Dell 14 Plus and $1,149 for the Dell 16 Plus; two-in-one configurations start at $999.

The Dell Pro series is designed for business users, with entry-level models like the Dell Pro 14 and Dell Pro 16 equipped with a mix of Core Ultra Series 1 and Series 2 processors, and enabling configurations of up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. These models feature plastic shells and basic integrated Intel graphics. The webcam options are limited to 720p or 1080p, making them less suitable for video conferencing.
The Dell Pro Plus models upgrade to an aluminum chassis with options for 13-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch displays, including two-in-one configurations for the smaller sizes. Enhanced webcam options of 1080p and 5-megapixel cameras are available in these models. The Dell Pro Premium laptops come in 13- or 14-inch sizes, featuring magnesium enclosures and offering a tandem OLED display option that enhances brightness and contrast while maintaining low power usage. The keyboard backlighting employs mini-LED technology, increasing battery life by approximately four hours. An Optional Collaboration Touchpad facilitates controls for Microsoft Teams and Zoom. The Dell Pro Premium also includes a modular USB-C port for improved durability and servicing.
Prices for the Dell Pro lines have not been disclosed. The Dell Pro 13 and 14 Premium laptops are available now, with the Dell Pro 13 Plus set to ship on February 25. The upcoming Dell Pro 13, 14, and 16 Plus models with low-power Intel Core Ultra 200U processors are anticipated in late March or early April, accompanied by AMD Ryzen-based versions slated for the first half of 2025.
Mobile workstation details
The Dell Pro Max line targets high-performance users with mobile workstations available in 14- and 16-inch models featuring up to Core Ultra 9 processors and Nvidia graphics. The Dell Pro Max 14 will sport RTX 500-series graphics and storage options up to 2TB, while the Dell Pro Max 16 will offer RTX 2000-series graphics with storage capacity up to 4TB. Both models are expected to launch in late March or early April, with AMD variants scheduled for release in July. Pricing has not yet been announced.
