Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025, with leaks from Jukanlosreve on X (via Android Authority) indicating that the Galaxy S25+ will have a design resembling its predecessor, the S24+.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus design revealed in leaked photos

The leaked photos highlight a large, slightly recessed section under the device’s buttons, identified as the speedier mmWave antenna, compatible with faster 5G services in the US model (SM-S936U). This differs from the usual design features seen on earlier models. The camera configuration remains largely unaltered, with no significant upgrades reported for the Galaxy S25 Plus or its standard variant. There are rumors suggesting that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 series in January, following its established release timeline.

Design similarities and changes

New hands-on images of the Galaxy S25 Plus reflect a phone that largely resembles its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Plus. The leaked photos reveal thin bezels surrounding the device’s display and indicate a change in the camera array, which is expected to feature black rings around the lenses. While details from the back panel remain limited due to tape covering key areas, the overall design stays consistent with rounded corners, previously established with earlier models.

These latest leaked images come from a source known as Jukanlosreve on the social media platform X. The shared images depict the front, side, and back of the device, including a sticker that likely conceals the punch-hole selfie camera. Beyond an ordinary appearance, there is a notable element on the right side of the device. Below the standard volume and power buttons, an additional hardware feature prompts questions about its function. Initial speculation suggested it could serve as a new capture button akin to those on Apple devices; however, the source clarified that this is likely just another mmWave antenna.

Camera and performance details

Regarding camera specifications and expected enhancements, rumors surrounding the Galaxy S25 series indicate minimal changes for both the S25 Plus and its standard variant. Previous leaks suggested that the camera setup would remain largely unchanged in these models, contrasting with the anticipated upgrades for the Ultra variant. The S25 Ultra is rumored to have more substantial camera improvements, which sets it apart within the series.

Despite the outward similarities, it is reported that the S25 Plus may feature a slight reduction in thickness, estimated at around 0.4 mm compared to its predecessor. This trim could enhance its ergonomics but may not be visually evident. The existing leaks reinforce a perception that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus will pivot little from its established form, with only cosmetic refinements expected.

Upcoming launch and pricing possibilities

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series is scheduled for unveiling in January 2025, following the tech giant’s tradition of introducing new flagship devices early in the year. While anticipation grows for the latest models, industry reports hint at a possible price increase in certain regions.
