The Pokémon Go Holiday 2024 Part 1 event will run from December 17 to December 22, introducing new features and challenges for players. Notably, the event will include double Catch XP, halved Egg Hatch Distance, and the debut of Dedenne in Holiday Attire. Players can engage in Field Research Tasks, Collection Challenges, and a free Timed Research, although a planned paid Timed Research is currently unavailable for purchase.
Pokémon Go holiday event to feature new challenges and Dedenne
Participants will receive the Holiday 2024 Part 1 Timed Research automatically upon logging in after the event begins on December 17 at 10 AM local time. The rewards for these tasks will remain accessible until December 22 at 9:59 AM local time, necessitating timely completion of all tasks.
The first step of the free Timed Research involves choosing between two story branches: assisting Spark or tracking down Sierra. The main distinction between these paths is the reward, with players receiving either an Alolan Vulpix or a Shadow Vulpix based on their choice. Players will encounter different Pokémon requirements for each branch, but the remaining rewards will be uniform.
For players opting to help Spark, tasks in Steps 2 through 4 will be aligned with this narrative. Conversely, those selecting to pursue Sierra will face distinct tasks for the same steps.
Field research tasks and collection challenges
Event-exclusive Field Research Tasks are obtainable by spinning PokéStops during the Holiday Part 1 event. These tasks can be completed at the players’ convenience beyond the event’s time frame. However, Collection Challenges must be addressed prior to the event’s conclusion on December 22 at 9:59 AM local time, requiring players to catch, hatch, or evolve specific Pokémon listed for each challenge.
Among the Collection Challenges for the Holiday Part 1 event are:
- Holiday Part 1 Challenge: Ice to meet you
- Holiday Part 1 Challenge: Hot to go
- Holiday Part 1 Challenge: Festive friend
These challenges will engage players in various activities, incentivizing them to explore the game more comprehensively during this festive period.
