Amazon One, first introduced in 2020, allows us to gain convenience in all areas of our lives with a system that allows you to pay by scanning your palm.

While contactless payment systems gradually replace cash and credit cards, this system will be available in Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh, and Amazon Go stores. It can also be used in over 150 airports, gyms, and grocery stores. What if we told you that you can now scan your palm from your phone?

It’s totally happening. Here are all the details you need to know.

Amazon announces new Amazon One app

Amazon has launched a new app to expand Amazon One, its contactless payment system that allows users to pay in stores by scanning their palms.

How to use Amazon One?

Let’s start with how to use the service. Previously, signing up for Amazon One required a special device to scan your palm.

Now, with a new option Amazon recently launched, you can take a photo of your palm from your phone and sign up.

Registration is easy. Download the Amazon One app, available for iOS or Android, and complete your registration.

So, is Amazon One secure to use?

Amazon says the images are encrypted and sent to the One domain in the AWS cloud and cannot be downloaded or saved to your phone. The company says the mobile app includes “additional fraud detection layers” to make things as secure as possible.

Here are some of the benefits Amazon One offers:

  • Fast and easy checkout
  • Contactless payment
  • Age verification
  • Loyalty card
  • Gym entrance

Where will Amazon One be used in the future?

Amazon One’s use is expected to increase in the coming years. It could be used to buy plane tickets, enter stadiums, or pay for public transportation.
