Meet MSI Claw, Steam Deck’s competitor

Designed to compete with products such as Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go, MSI Claw offers a breath of fresh air in the portable gaming market with Intel Core Ultra processors.

Here’s all we know about MSI Claw, which will initially appeal to game lovers with three different model options…

MSI Claw: Features and performance

Featuring a 7-inch 1080p, 48-120Hz VRR LCD display, Claw offers a smooth and visually impressive gaming experience with its Intel Arc graphics chip and 8 Xe cores. With a 2-hour battery life, the device offers precise control with a Hall-effect trigger and joysticks. Other features such as a fingerprint sensor, microSD slot, and Thunderbolt 4 port make Claw even more useful.

Prices and models

The base model offers a Core Ultra 5 processor and 512GB SSD storage with a price tag of $699. The mid-range model will retail for $749, including a Core Ultra 7 processor and 512GB SSD storage. The top model is priced at $799 and features a Core Ultra 7 processor and 1TB SSD storage.

Sales and pre-order

The base model will be available from the MSI website starting March 11. The other two models will go on sale on March 12. Starting March 15, Claw will be available for pre-order on Newegg, and Newegg pre-orders will include a free Skull and Bones game and 1 month of Xbox Game Pass.

Competitors and highlights

Compared to competitors like Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go, MSI Claw is the first with Intel Core Ultra processors. Claw runs the Windows operating system and offers access to an extensive game library.
