In a move that could revolutionize the world of professional wrestling and streaming, WWE Netflix deal has announced a multi-billion dollar deal that will bring WWE’s flagship RAW show to the streaming platform.

The deal, worth a staggering $5 billion over ten years, will also give Netflix the right to stream WWE shows and events such as Smackdown, NXT, and Royal Rumble. Here are all the details…

WWE Netflix deal: What it means for both companies

This partnership means a big profit gate for both companies. We can say that it means a big increase in the number of viewers for WWE. USA Network, the current home of Raw, has about 73 million subscribers, while Netflix has more than 77 million subscribers in the US and Canada alone. In addition, the deal will earn WWE nearly double its revenue from its TV rights deal with NBCUniversal.

“WWE Raw is getting in the ring with Netflix!” Netflix said in a statement Tuesday.

“This partnership will break new ground and take @WWE to new heights,” WWE Superstar and Chief Content Officer Triple H said on X. “Now we change the game!!!!”

For Netflix, this deal is a major coup in the streaming wars. While the platform has long been a leader in on-demand TV shows and films, it has lagged behind its rivals in the live streaming space. With the addition of WWE Raw, Netflix has finally gained a foothold in the live event market, traditionally dominated by sports leagues and other special events.

On the other hand, this deal carries some risks for both parties. WWE has relied on its live events and merchandise sales to generate revenue, and the move to streaming could impact those numbers. In addition, in the past, Netflix has had difficulties with live streaming, and technical issues could affect fans’ viewing experience.

For WWE, this deal means a huge increase in visibility and revenue. For Netflix, it’s a chance to prove it can compete in the live events space and attract a whole new audience of wrestling fans. The move could also open up new opportunities for WWE, such as more merchandise sales and more live events.

The deal kicks off in January 2025, so fans have a whole year to wait for this move. But one thing is clear: The WWE Netflix deal will be a game-changer for both companies and could have a huge impact on the world of professional wrestling and broadcasting.
